The poll was commissioned to the Slovene research institute SLORI by the secretariat of the Slovene cultural-economic union (Slovenska kulturno-gospodarska zveza). The poll was carried out in order to verify:
– the efficacy of the SKGZ work
– the level of agreement of the members as regards the reform measures undertaken for the renovation of the SKGZ and
– the level of agreement of the members with the possible development strategies of the SKGZ.
The poll group was made up by 400 members of the organisations and institutions from Trieste, Gorizia and Udine included in the SKGZ. They were randomly selected from a list supplied by the secretariat of the umbrella organisation (SKGZ). It is therefore a group, which can not be controlled by the Slovene research institute SLORI.
The interviews were held in April 2009.
The questionnaire was articulated in 28 questions regarding the following themes:
• level of agreement with the definition of the SKGZ’s vision
• level of importance and efficiency of the organisation’s work
• level of agreement with the reforms proposals of the SKGZ as regards membership
• role of the SKGZ in the shaping of a strategy for the development of the Slovenes in Italy
• relations of the SKGZ with the SSO organisation
• relevance with the present and feasibility of the results of the Programmatic conference of the SKGZ-SSO organisations
• double membership of the main Slovene institutions in Italy
• competence of the SKGZ as regards the main Slovene institutions in Italy
• relations of the SKGZ with political parties
• shaping of the presidency of the Slovene national community in Italy
• need for a direct elected body of the Slovenes in Italy
• unification of the duplicates
• distribution of financial means among the Slovene institutions in Italy
• level of agreement as regards some development strategies of the SKGZ
The research’s results and findings were presented to the leading bodies of the SKGZ by the authoress of the poll, the researcher Norina Bogatec.
