Sociologist Devan Jagodic graduated in Intercultural Sciences and Techniques from the University of Trieste and obtained a PhD in Trans-border policies for daily life from the International University Institute for European Studies (IUIES) in Gorizia. He has been a researcher at the Slovene Research Institute (SLORI) in Trieste since 2004 and was appointed as director of the Institute in 2012. His scientific research focuses primarily on social and cultural processes in border regions and ethnically diverse geographical areas, socio-linguistic aspects relating to ethnic and linguistic communities in contact and minority issues by and large. He has contributed to several research papers on social issues and young people. His scientific and scholarly articles and overviews have been published in several specialised journals in Slovenia, Italy and elsewhere.
