On 23 October 2024, the Crossborder Conference on Needs and Good Practices in Multilingual Operation in Public Administration will be held in Koper, at the ZRS Koper Humanities Centre. The event is part of the Crossborder standardisation of institutional terminology project, which aims to contribute to the achievement of terminological standardisation of administrative translations at cross-border level, and is co-funded by the European Union within the framework of the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia Programme.
The conference aims to address the challenges and share good practices in the management of multilingualism in public institutions in the border areas between Italy and Slovenia. The conference will include speeches by experts and representatives of Italian and Slovenian institutions, with a focus on the linguistic contexts and on the analysis of the needs detected through focus groups carried out within the project.
The working languages will be Slovenian and Italian and an interpreting service will be provided. The meeting represents an opportunity to compare different administrative realities operating in multilingual contexts.
