Period of performance of the third tranche of the service: 2021- 2024
The service is based on language support activities geared toward raising the tenor of Slovene in use at the daily newspaper of the Slovenian national community in Italy, a vehicle for language practices and usages that reach from the pages of the newspaper to anyone in Italy who speaks Slovene.
The service provided in 2023 included:
- linguistic correction and revision of newspaper articles with attached collection of material on phenomena of linguistic interference between Slovenian and Italian;
- editing of the second edition of a handbook for the use of journalists on the basis of the material mentioned in the previous point, with special attention to the cases of greatest interest for the linguistic reality of Slovenes in Italy;
- weekly language column edited in rotation by Andreja Kalc, Matejka Grgič, Damjan Popič, Maja Melinc Mlekuž, Jasmin Franza and Zarja Zver;
- “language first aid”: real-time language counseling service for journalists and other editorial staff as part of two group chats on Messenger;
- holding of language workshops for the publicity department and authors of Direkt, the Primorski dnevnik’s column dedicated to young people.
