The poll was commissioned by the Society for the promotion of editorial activities (Promozione Attività Editoriale PRAE) and the Primorski dnevnik cooperative (Zadruga Primorski dnevnik). The Slovene research institute SLORI carried out the poll with the aim of verifying the level of satisfaction of the readers about the reporting method of the newspaper, about the level of their interest for the single contents and the level of agreement with some eventual development strategies of the newspaper.
The poll group was made up by the readers of the Primorski dnevnik newspaper, and namely:
• subscribers
• people, who live in families with a subscriber of the Primorski dnevnik
• people, who use to buy the Primorski dnevnik
• people, who do not buy the Primorski dnevnik and do not live in families with subscribers
The names of the readers have been suggested by the Presidents of the Slovene associations and by single individuals.
The poll group counts 396 interviewees. It is based on an uniform distribution of the readers as regards their province of residence (Trieste, Gorizia), gender and age (younger or older than 35).
The questionnaire was articulated in 30 questions regarding the following themes:
• level of information of the readers
• access to the Primorski dnevnik
• reading frequency
• interest for the single contents
• level of satisfaction with different views of the Primorski dnevnik
• level of importance of the single views, which distinguish a good minority newspaper
• level of agreement with some eventual development strategies for the Primorski dnevnik
• level of agreement with some statements about the Primorski dnevnik
The questionnaire was submitted to the interviewees from December 2008 to January 2009.
The research’s results and findings were presented to the two customers and to the editorial board of the Primorski dnevnik by the authoress of the poll, the researcher Norina Bogatec.
The poll’s analysis is available and subject to the approval of the customer, who commissioned the poll itself.
