In the study of ethnic and minority groups, it is particularly difficult not to take into consideration an analysis of the territory, the inhabited areas and the population movements. At the moment there is a tendential reduction of the gap between the urban and rural areas characterised by the consolidation of the social urbanisation process. In the light of these processes, there has been the desire to analyse the sense of territorial belonging and ethnic identity in the Slovene community living in the district of Monfalcone and in the Commune of Doberdò. The researcher has chosen to study the geographical mobility and the socialisation agents that influence the intensity and motivations of ethnic belonging.
