The project Spoznajmo se/Conosciamoci (eng. Getting to know each other: discovering multicultural Trieste through joint didactic activities) aimed to enhance communication between Italian and Slovene pupils and students, strengthen cooperation between the Italian and Slovene-speaking communities in Trieste and promote mutual understanding, so as to eliminate historical and cultural stereotypes. The project intended to foster peaceful relations between various ethnic and linguistic communities present in the city of Trieste by promoting intercultural education. This is achieved by carrying out targeted activities promoted jointly by schools and research institutes. This project was made possible thanks to the cooperation between the Slovene Research Institute (SLORI) and a network of Slovene and Italian middle schools and high schools in Trieste, namely F. Prešeren and A. M. Slomšek liberal arts high schools and the technical high school G. Deledda – M. Fabiani.
