The book collects the proceedings of the Italian – Slovene Conference on socioeconomic problems of Beneška Slovenia organized by the Slovene Research Institute together with the Research Centre “Nediža”. There are 12 papers by various authors from Italy and Slovenia, where models of economic development of peripheral areas, problems of emigration and prospects for bilateral economic cooperation are studied; the opening and final contributions of editors and the welcome address by the then president of the Regional Council of Friuli – Venezia Giulia are included. A brief summary in Slovene and Italian is added to each paper.
