The Karstic Weddings that take place every second year at Monrupino-Repentabor, in the province of Trieste represent the evoking of the traditional wedding customs. During the reading of this book we are able to get to know the places where the event takes place, its phases, the couple, the traditional dress, the songs and the dances of this colourful folkloristic event. Through the testimonies of old people, the author has collected the memories of the traditional wedding customs in the Karst area. The presentation of the ritual phases of the Karst weddings is followed by a summary of the written sources about the Slovene wedding customs on the Karst in the province of Trieste. The volume is illustrated with photographs of the Karst weddings that take place today.
