The bilingual publication examines the variegated universe of the young citizens, who reside in the Italian-Slovene cross-border area. The results presented hereby were obtained through a research, promoted and carried out within the project “Eventi di frontiera/Mejni dogodki” (Border events) Interreg IIIa Italy-Slovenia. The research traces a profile of the youth situation in the border area, stretching from the Eastern plateau of the Trieste and Monrupino Municipalities on the Italian side of the border to the Sežana and Divača Municipalities on the Slovene side. In particular, the study concentrates on the identification of the motivations, which lead young people to take part in the volunteers’ associations and organisations and on the examination of the attitudes towards the territory on both the sides of the border.
