Maja Mezgec graduated from the Faculty of Education at the University of Trieste and obtained a PhD in Education at the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana. She has been a researcher at the Slovene Research Institute (SLORI) since 2002. In 2008, she started working at the University of Primorska as a lecturer in Andragogical Sciences. Her areas of research include pedagogy, andragogy and plurilingual education, especially regarding ethnic minorities. She took part in many projects concerning education and learning in minority and multiethnic environments. Her research papers, articles, reviews and reports have been published in journals across Slovenia and elsewhere.
